Removal (8.1L)

  1. Clean area around fuel rails before disassembly. Release fuel pressure. Remove engine sight shield bracket nuts and bracket. Disconnect generator harness electrical connector. Disconnect EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Disconnect Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) electrical connector.
  2. Remove upper engine wire harness bracket studs and position wiring harness aside. Remove secondary air injection crossover pipe if applicable. Label injector connectors. Pull up on top portion of connector making sure not to pull past White portion. Push tab on lower portion to release connector. Disconnect fuel feed and return lines. Disconnect fuel system pressure regulator vacuum line.
  3. Remove fuel rail attaching bolts. Remove fuel rail assembly and injectors from vehicle.
