Removal & Installation (SFI)

- Remove the engine cover. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line. Clean any dirt from the fuel pressure regulator retainer and the surrounding area. Remove the fuel pressure regulator retainer. Remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel pressure regulator housing.
- Install the backup ring on the fuel pressure regulator. Lubricate the fuel pressure regulator large "O" ring and the small "O" ring with clean engine oil. Install the new large "O" ring on the fuel pressure regulator. Install the regulator filter on the fuel pressure regulator. Install the new small "O" ring on the fuel pressure regulator. Push the fuel pressure regulator into the regulator housing on the fuel rail. Install a new fuel pressure regulator retainer. Connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the fuel filler cap. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds. Turn ON the ignition. Inspect for fuel leaks. Install the engine cover.
