Removal & Installation (8.1L)

  1. Remove the engine cover. Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector. See Fig 1. Remove the MAP sensor retaining bolt and washer. Remove the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. Inspect the MAP sensor seal for wear or damage and replace as necessary.
  2. Lightly coat the MAP sensor seal with Rubber Lubricant (9985770) before installing the sensor. The lubricant should be applied with a sponge or a brush. To prevent blockage, avoid dipping the sensor port directly into the lubricant.
  3. Install the MAP sensor. Install the MAP sensor retaining bolt and washer. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector. Install the engine cover.
