Removal & Installation (4.3L, 5.0L & 5.7L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine cover. Disconnect IAT sensor harness connector (as necessary). Remove air cleaner outlet duct. Disconnect IAC valve and TP sensor harness connectors from throttle body.
  2. Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cables. Remove accelerator cable bracket bolts and bracket. Remove air cleaner adapter stud and throttle body retaining studs. Remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold. Remove flange gasket and discard.
  3. NOTE: Identification number is stamped on throttle body. Use identification number to order replacement components.
  4. Clean gasket surface on intake manifold and throttle body. Install NEW flange gasket. Install throttle body assembly. Install throttle body studs. Install air cleaner adapter stud. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Before starting vehicle, ensure throttle and cruise control linkage does not hold throttle open.
