Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the engine cover. See ENGINE COVER  . Disconnect the PCV hose from the fuel mixer housing. Remove the bolts from the air cleaner housing. Loosen the retaining clamp from the MAF sensor at the air cleaner housing. If equipped with a resonator, loosen the retaining clamp at the MAF sensor elbow. If equipped with a resonator, unclip the resonator from the air cleaner housing. Remove the air cleaner housing from the vehicle. If equipped with a resonator, remove the resonator.
  2. On all vehicles, disconnect the MAF sensor and IAT sensor connectors. Remove the LPR reference hose from the MAF sensor elbow. Loosen the retaining clamp from the MAF sensor elbow at the fuel mixer housing. Remove the MAF sensor and elbow from the vehicle. Remove the bolts from the fuel mixer housing bracket. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
  3. Remove the fuel supply clamp and hose from the fuel mixer. Remove the idle solenoid clamp and hose from the idle solenoid. Remove the fuel control solenoid clamp and hose from the fuel solenoid. Remove the throttle body adapter nut. Remove the throttle body adapter and the fuel mixer housing as an assembly from the vehicle.
  4. Install the throttle body adapter and the fuel mixer housing as an assembly into the vehicle. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
