Removal & Installation (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L & 8.1L)

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. On 4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L models, loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. See Figure. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine.
- On all models, remove spark plug wire(s) from appropriate ignition coil(s). Disconnect harness connector(s) from appropriate ignition coil(s). Remove retaining bolts from appropriate ignition coil(s). Remove ignition coil(s) from engine.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
