Removal (4.3L)

NOTE: Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor variation learn procedure will need to be performed whenever CKP sensor is removed or replaced. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
  1. Turn ignition off. Raise and support vehicle. Remove steering linkage shield bolts and steering linkage shield (if equipped).
  2. Disconnect Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connector. CKP sensor harness connector is located on front of engine, behind crankshaft pulley. See Figure. Remove CKP sensor mounting bolt and CKP sensor.
