Removal (4.3L)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen hose clamp on outlet side of Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor. Dislodge air cleaner outlet duct from outlet side of MAF sensor.
  2. Remove air cleaner outlet duct wing nut at throttle body unit. Pivot air cleaner outlet duct/resonator upward at throttle body unit until hinge clip releases from lip on throttle body. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) valve harness connector. IAC valve is located on driver's side of throttle body unit. See Figure. Remove IAC valve mounting screws. Remove IAC valve and "O" ring from throttle body unit.
