Removal (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

NOTE:
On models equipped with Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), Throttle Position (TP) sensor is not serviceable separately. Throttle body and TP sensor must be serviced as a complete assembly. See THROTTLE BODY under FUEL SYSTEMS.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. See Figure. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine. Loosen hose clamp at outlet side of MAF sensor. Loosen air inlet tube hose clamp at throttle body. Remove radiator inlet hose clip from air inlet tube. Remove air inlet tube.
- Install a breaker bar with hex-head socket to the drive belt tensioner bolt. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise in order to relieve tension on the drive belt. Remove the belt from the generator pulley. Slowly release the tension on the drive belt tensioner. Remove the breaker bar and socket from the drive belt tensioner bolt.
- Disconnect generator harness connector. Slide the boot down to reveal the generator positive post. Remove the generator positive post cable nut. Remove the generator positive post cable. Remove generator mounting bolts and generator.
- Disconnect TP sensor harness connector. See Figure. Remove TP sensor mounting screws. Remove TP sensor and "O" ring seal from throttle body unit.
