Removal (3.8L - Impala & Monte Carlo)

  1. Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump is located under left front of vehicle. See Fig 1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the left wheel assembly. Remove the left front fender liner. See LEFT FRONT FENDER LINER  under MISCELLANEOUS.
  2. Loosen the AIR exhaust pipe hose pinch clamp. Disconnect the AIR exhaust hose from the AIR pump. Disconnect the AIR pump electrical connector. Remove the bolts securing the AIR pump bracket to the frame. Remove the AIR pump and bracket as an assembly.
