Removal Procedure

The electronically operated fuel filler door can be manually opened from inside the rear trunk by pulling on the manual release cable located behind the stowage compartment support trim.

  1. Open the fuel door and remove the jam nut from the actuator cable.

  3. Remove the drivers side rear tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

    Remove the drivers side rear wheelhouse liner panel for cable installation access.

  5. Raise the convertible top.
  6. Position the seat forward for better access.

  8. Remove the trim panel from the rear compartment support.

  10. Remove the side trim panel.
  11. Reposition the carpet away from the wheel house.

  13. Disconnect the electrical connector from the actuator.
  14. Remove the nut attaching the actuator.
  15. Remove the actuator.
