2	Close the rear hatch. Is the hatch ajar indicator illuminated?	Go to Step 3	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems
3	Install a scan tool. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF. With a scan tool observe the rear compartment lid ajar switch signal parameter in the BCM Input Data 2 data list. Does the scan tool display open?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 10
4	Disconnect the rear compartment lid latch. With a scan tool observe the rear compartment lid ajar switch signal parameter in the BCM Input Data 2 data list. Does the scan tool display open?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 7
5	Test for a short to ground in the signal circuit of the rear compartment lid latch ajar circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 6
6	Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 8
