Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Safari, 2002 Chevrolet Astro, 2001 GMC Safari, 2001 Chevrolet Astro, and 2000 GMC Safari. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the panel to the vehicle:
    1. 1.1. Align the retaining clips with the holes in the body.
    2. 1.2. Press the panel down in order to seat the fasteners into place.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
  2. Install the screw that retains the panel to the C pillar.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw that retains the panel to the C pillar to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  3. Install the cargo net bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the cargo net bolt to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  4. Install the jack access panel.
  5. Install the upper and the lower mounting bolts for the rear seat belt. Refer toSEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - NO. 2 LEFT and SEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - NO. 2 RIGHT in seat belts.
  6. Install the C and the D pillar trim. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
