Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Safari, 2002 Chevrolet Astro, 2001 GMC Safari, 2001 Chevrolet Astro, and 2000 GMC Safari. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Slide the molding past the following components in order to install the molding to the vehicle:
    • The instrument panel
    • The knee bolster
    • Behind the cowl side panel trim
  2. Align the fasteners at the windshield pillar.
  3. Press the fasteners into place until the fasteners seat fully.
  4. Install the tab on the molding in the clip in the center of the door opening.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
  5. Install the screw that retains the end of the molding to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw that retains the end of the molding to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).
