Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Safari, 2002 Chevrolet Astro, 2001 GMC Safari, 2001 Chevrolet Astro, and 2000 GMC Safari. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install the engine cover.

Install the screws to the engine cover.
Do not fully tighten the screws.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
Install the latch screws.
Tighten

Tighten the latch screws to 4 N.m (35 in. lb.).

Install the engine cover bolts to the brackets.
Tighten

Tighten the engine cover bolt to 25 N.m (18 ft. lb.).
Insert the floor air outlet duct. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL, GAGES & CONSOLE .

Insert the instrument panel extension. Refer to MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS .
