Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Safari, 2002 Chevrolet Astro, 2001 GMC Safari, 2001 Chevrolet Astro, and 2000 GMC Safari. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the trim plate to the vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
  2. Install the screws that retain the left front door step trim plate to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws that retain the left front door step trim plate to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  3. Install the screws that retain the right front door step trim plate.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws that retain the right front door step trim plate to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  4. Install the screws that retain the sliding door step trim plate to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws that retain the sliding door step trim plate to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  5. Install the screws that retain the rear trim plate to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws that retain the rear trim plate to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  6. Close the door(s).
