Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the door to the vehicle, with the aid of an assistant.
  2. Use the J 41226 in order to install the hinge pins (3).
  3. Install the check link. Refer to CHECK LINK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOOR)  or CHECK LINK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
  4. Install the harness and the conduit to the door.
  5. On the right door, install the wiring harness to the license plate lamp and the power lock actuator.
  6. Install the water deflector to the door. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement  .
  7. Install the speakers, if equipped. Refer to SPEAKER REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR in Entertainment.
  8. Install the trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOORS)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
