Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
  1. Route the cable through the front of the cowl.

  3. Install the screws that retain the cable to cowl side panel. Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).
  4. Install the left cowl side trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - COWL SIDE .

  5. Pull the cable assembly from the front of the cowl until the grommet is seated.
  6. Connect the cable to the fasteners in the radiator support.

  8. Use a suitable tool in order to clamp the cable clip and connect the cable to the primary latch.
  9. Verify that the hood is operating correctly.
