Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES.
  1. Install the fender to the body.
  2. Install the fender to the body bolts. Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (115 in. lb.).
  3. Install the front wheel house extension. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement .
  4. Install the front rocker cladding. Refer to CLADDING REPLACEMENT - LEFT ROCKER PANEL , or to CLADDING REPLACEMENT - RIGHT ROCKER PANEL in Exterior Trim.

  6. Install the hood to the fender nut and bolt. Tighten:  Tighten the nut and bolts to 13 N.m (115 in. lb.).
  7. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the screws retaining the windshield frame filler panel. Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).
  9. Install the impact bar. Refer to IMPACT BAR REPLACEMENT -- FRONT BUMPER in Bumpers.
  10. Close the hood.
