Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the instrument cluster to the instrument panel:
    1. Set the cluster in place in the instrument panel.
    2. Align the cluster with the electrical connector on the instrument panel.
    3. Gently press the cluster in order to seat the cluster into the instrument panel and onto the electrical connector.
    2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the four screws that retain the instrument cluster to the instrument panel. Tighten:  Tighten the four screws that retain the instrument cluster tot he instrument panel 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Install the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER  .
