Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the left Front Fender Upper diagonal brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT -- SHEET METAL DIAGONAL .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY .
  4. Remove the vacuum brake booster. Refer to POWER BRAKE BOOSTER .
  5. Remove the accumulator tube clip.
  6. Disconnect the evaporator inlet tube nut from the condenser tube.
  7. Disconnect the evaporator inlet tube from the condenser tube.

  9. Remove the evaporator tube to evaporator block fitting bolt.

    Important:  Use care when removing the evaporator tube.

  10. Disconnect the evaporator inlet tube from the evaporator.
  11. Remove the O-ring and discard.
