Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Important: The left and right air temperature actuators pivot in the center.
- Install the air temperature actuators (1,2). Carefully align the air temperature actuators into the HVAC module case.
- Install the air temperature actuator.
- Install the new case seal (2) into the HVAC module case (1).
- Align and install the upper module case to the lower module case.
Align and secure the retaining tab (1) on the upper module case to the retaining slot on the lower module case.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE . - Install the HVAC module upper mounting screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
- Install the air inlet housing (2).
- Install the air inlet housing retaining screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
- Position the left air temperature actuator, then align the slots in the electric actuator drive to the flats of the shaft.
- Align the locating hole to the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.
- Slide the actuator drive on the shaft. The actuator drive should set completely on the shaft and the mounting holes should be flush with the mounting screws on the HVAC module case.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
- Install the screws to the left air temperature actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
- Install the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
