Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the retaining rail to the body.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES .
  2. Install the retaining rail screws.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the retaining rail screws to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).

  3. Install the cladding to the vehicle.
  4. Install the nut on the back of the cladding to the stud.
    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the nut to 7 N.m (62 in. lb.).
  5. Install the screws into the cladding.
    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 in. lb.).
  6. Install the retainers into the wheelhouse extension flange.
