Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the electrical connector from the power steering solenoid actuator (1).
  2. Remove the power steering pump (1) from the vehicle. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (4.8 L, 5.3 L AND 6.0 L ENGINES) or POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (8.1 L) in Power Steering System.

  3. Remove the retaining ring (2) from the power steering solenoid actuator (1).
    4. IMPORTANT: Note the orientation of the power steering solenoid actuator discharge fitting.
  4. Remove the power steering solenoid actuator (1) and fitting.
  5. Remove the O-ring seal from the power steering solenoid actuator.
