Wheel Stud (Semi-Floating Axle): Installation

  1. Start the NEW stud into the axle flange hole by pressing firmly with your hand.
  2. Thread the lug nut on the stud with the flat side of the lug nut to the vehicle. See Figure .
  3. Tighten the lug nut in order to draw the stud into the rear of the flange.
  4. Thread the lug nut off the stud.
  5. Instal the brake drum. See 1998 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER , 1999 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER or 2000-01 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER .
  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
