WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Remove upper intake manifold assembly. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY  .
  2. Before removal, clean fuel meter body assembly with a spray type engine cleaner, such as GM X-30A. DO NOT use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Solvents containing MEK may damage fuel system components.
  3. NOTE: Cover the injector sockets in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open fuel passages.
  4. Label fuel injector lines for installation reference. Squeeze injector lock tabs and lift injectors from lower intake manifold. Remove fuel meter body from bracket with injector lines and injectors attached by releasing lock tabs on bracket. Disassemble as necessary.
