Removal & Installation (4.0L)

Remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector. See Fig 1. Remove the CMP retaining bolt. Remove the CMP sensor. Inspect the CMP sensor "O" ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the "O"ring. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate the CMP sensor "O" ring with engine oil. Tighten CMP sensor bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
