Removal (3.5L)

  1. Remove the fuel lines from the EGR valve bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve. See Figure. Remove the mounting nuts from the EGR valve bracket studs. Remove the EGR valve bracket. Remove the mounting studs from the coolant crossover assembly.
  2. Remove the EGR valve. Ensure the valve mounting surface is clean and all gasket material is removed. Inspect the EGR passages in the crossover water pump housing for deposits. Clean the EGR passages as needed. See EGR SYSTEM CLEANING .
