Luggage Compartment Description and Operation

The rear compartment lid is operated by the rear compartment lid release switch. The rear compartment lid system contains the following components:

The rear compartment lid is operated by the rear compartment lid release switch. When the switch is operated the body control module rear compartment lid release request is switched battery positive. The body control module will then ground the coil side of the htchtrk relay. When the relay is grounded the switch side closes and provides battery voltage to the rear compartment lid latch which will release the rear compartment. When the rear compartment lid is open, the rear compartment lid ajar switch is closed and provides an ajar input to the body control module.
