Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If DTC P0342 or P0343 is also set, diagnose that DTC first. DTC P0341 can set if an intermittent circuit fault occurs. See DTC P0342: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT - LOW VOLTAGE  or DTC P0343: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT - HIGH VOLTAGE  .

DTC P0341 indicates that an intermittent CMP sensor signal is being received or the signal is invalid. To locate the intermittent problem, use scan tool to monitor CMP ACTIVE COUNTER with engine running. The counter will continuously count up from 0 to 255, then reset to 0 if pulses are being received correctly. If any circuit fault is occurring, the CMP sensor signal will not change and the counter will stop counting.

The CMP, ECT and MAF sensors share the same sensor return circuit.
