Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearings Cleaning and Inspection (Measuring Piston Ring End Gap)

Important: 

  1. Place the piston ring into the cylinder bore.
  2. Push the piston ring into the bore 6.5 mm (0.25 in) below the piston ring travel area.
  3. Insert a feeler gage and measure the piston ring end gap. Refer to ENGINE MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS - LS1  or ENGINE MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS - LS6 .
