Hydraulic Pressure Tests: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saturn Vue and 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
Keep the brakes applied at all times to prevent unexpected vehicle motion. Personal injury may result if the vehicle moves unexpectedly.
CAUTION:
Transaxle can generate line pressure of about 798 psi (56.1 kg/cm2
). Line pressure should be tested using VT25-E Line Pressure Gauge (J45195) or equivalent.
NOTE:
The transaxle must be in Park or Neutral, with the vehicle stopped for the scan tool to be able to command the line pressure lower than normal. This protects transaxle clutches from extremely low pressure in Drive or Reverse.
