Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saturn Vue and 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The TCM uses the input speed and output speed sensor inputs to calculate the speed ratio. The speed ratio is then compared to the desired speed ratio, and difference between the two values is the speed ratio error. If the ratio control response is slow or jerky, a fail counter is incremented a number of counts depending upon the magnitude of speed ratio error above a calibrated value. Conversely, if the ratio control response is smooth and the speed ratio is close to the desired speed ratio the fail counter will be decremented. DTC P1882 will be set if the fail counter is equal to a calibrated value.
