  1. With ignition on, engine running. Idle for one minute. Using scan tool, monitor status of DTC P0960. Did last test fail? If so, go to next step. If not, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect transaxle 20-way harness connector. Connect test light between battery voltage and transaxle 20-way harness connector terminal No. 16. Turn ignition on, engine off. Is test light on? If so, go to next step. If not, go to step  7 .
  3. Measure voltage between transaxle 20-way harness connector terminal No. 15 and ground. What is the voltage value? If voltage is 2-6 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 2 volts, go to step  5 . If voltage is more than 6 volts, go to step  6 .
  4. Check for loose terminal connections at transaxle 20-way harness connector. Repair as necessary. If okay, replace control solenoid valve assembly. See appropriate AUTOMATIC article in TRANSMISSION SERVICING.
  5. Inspect line PC solenoid high circuit (1530) for an open or a short to ground and loose terminal connections at TCM. Repair as necessary. If okay, replace TCM. See TRANSAXLE CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  6. Inspect line pressure control solenoid high circuit (1530) for a short to voltage. Repair as necessary. If okay, replace TCM. See TRANSAXLE CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  7. Connect test light between transaxle 20-way harness connector terminal No. 16 and ground. Is test light on? If so, go to next step. If not, go to step  9 .
  8. Inspect line PC solenoid high circuit (1530) for open and loose terminal connections at TCM. Repair as necessary. If okay, replace TCM. See TRANSAXLE CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  9. Inspect line PC solenoid high circuit (1530) for a short to voltage. Repair as necessary. If okay, replace TCM. See TRANSAXLE CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
