If P0842 or P0843 is also set, diagnose the other failure first. Unsteady engine torque or engine misfires may cause fluctuation in transmission line pressure and set this DTC. Check the for fuel injector DTCs P0201-P0204 and misfire DTCs P0300-P0304. If any of these DTCs are present, repair them first. Clear DTCs and test to verify that engine fluctuations caused this problem. To locate an intermittent problem, use the scan tool to monitor LINE PRESSURE ACTUAL with the engine running. Wiggling wires while watching for a change in the LINE PRESSURE ACTUAL may locate the area where an open or a short to ground in the wiring may lie. Also, check for loose terminal connections.
