Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical in the C/K Pickup service manual.

  5. Remove the intermediate pressure regulator (IPR) fuel outlet line hold-down nut (6).
  6. Remove the fuel outlet line hold down (4).
  7. Disconnect the IPR fuel outlet lines (5, 8) from the IPR (2).
  8. Loosen the IPR fuel outlet line screw clamp (9) at the fuel rail.
  9. Remove the IPR fuel outlet line hold downs (7) at the fuel rail.
  10. Remove the IPR fuel outlet line from the vehicle.
