Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the rubber plug from the brake caliper.
- Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose (2).
- Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper (1).
Tighten: Tighten the brake hose bolt to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).
NOTE: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked after installation. Damage to the hose could result.IMPORTANT: Use the stripe on the brake hose in order to align the brake hose with the notch in the brake hose bracket. - Install the brake hose (3) to the brake hose bracket (2).
- Install the brake hose retainer (4) to the brake hose (3).
- Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end.
- Install the brake pipe fitting (1) to the brake hose.
Tighten: Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
IMPORTANT:
Install NEW copper brake hose gaskets (3).
