Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Fig 1: View Of Catalytic Converter Bolts

    IMPORTANT: Do not remove the muffler.
  3. Remove the fasteners that attach the muffler to the catalytic converter.
  4. Reposition the muffler in order to access the heat shield rivets.
  5. Use a drill in order to remove the heat shield rivets.
  6. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shield from the vehicle.
