Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Right

- All gasket-mating surfaces need to be free of oil and foreign material. Use GM P/N 12378392 or equivalent to clean surfaces.
- Apply sealant GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) or equivalent at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.
- Install a NEW gasket to the valve rocker arm cover. Ensure that the gasket is properly seated in the groove of the valve rocker arm cover.
- Apply sealant GM P/N 12378521, (Canadian P/N 88901148) or the equivalent to the joint surfaces (1) where the cylinder head and intake manifold meet.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the vacuum lines from the upper intake manifold.
- Install the ignition coil studs.
Tighten: Tighten the ignition coil studs to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the electronic ignition control module.
- Install the electronic ignition control module nuts and bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the electronic ignition control module nuts and bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
