Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection

  1. Remove the oil level sensor bolt.
  2. Remove the oil level sensor.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Cleaning Solvent Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Clean the oil pan in solvent. Remove all sludge and debris from the bottom of the oil pan.
  5. Inspect the oil pan sealing surfaces for damage.

    Replace the oil pan if necessary.

  6. Install the oil level sensor.
  7. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Install the oil level sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the oil level sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
