Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Use the J 41816-A  in order to remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .
  4. Use a utility stand to support the right side of the frame and powertrain.
  5. Remove the right side frame bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement - Front (W/AWD) or Frame Replacement - Front (W/FWD) in Frame and Underbody.
  6. Raise the vehicle or lower the frame and powertrain in order to gain access to the crankshaft balancer.
