Removal Procedure

- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) in Engine Electrical.
- Remove all related panels and components.
- Note the location and remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area, as necessary. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair in Paint and Coatings.
- Perform the necessary procedures to gain access to repair. Refer to Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Mark cut the location for access to the cage nut.
- Cut the floor panel.
- Remove the floor panel, accessing the cage nut.
- Using a flat-bladed tool, pry open the cage nut retainer just enough to remove the cage nut.
- Remove the damaged cage nut from the retainer.

IMPORTANT:
Do NOT damage any inner panels or reinforcements.
