Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the cooling fans with the cooling fan shroud.
- Reposition the engine wiring harness.
- Connect the engine wiring harness retainers at the engine harness bracket.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Connect the TOC lines to the fan module retainer clip.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the upper TOC line to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Install the cooling fan shroud bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
- Install the radiator upper mounts.
- Install the radiator upper mount bolts (1).
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
- Install the coolant overflow hose to the radiator.
- Reposition the hose clamp to secure the coolant overflow hose using the J 38185 . See Special Tools and Equipment .
- Install the upper radiator hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet (LA1) or Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet (LY7) .
- Position the engine mount struts brackets flush with the upper radiator support.
- Install the engine mount strut bracket brace bolts to the upper radiator support.
Tighten: Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Tighten the engine mount strut nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).
- Install right side diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal - Right in Body Front End.
- Install the cooling fan harness electrical connector.
- Install the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
