Removal Procedure

  1. Apply masking tape to the area around the hood emblem to protect the finish.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Remove the nuts from the back of the hood emblem.

  4. To remove the emblem from the hood, heat the emblem using the J 25070  152 mm (6.0 in) from the surface.
  5. Apply heat in a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
    NOTE: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Use a plastic, flat bladed tool to lift or remove the emblem from the hood.
  7. Remove any adhesive from the hood using a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk P/N 07501 or equivalent.
