DEFINITION: The driver or passenger heated seat is inoperative.
1 Did you review the Heated Seat System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections? - Go to Step 2  Go to Symptoms - Seats

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Turn the heated seat switch ON.
Does the heated seat operate properly?
- Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3 
3 Does the heated seat switch indicator illuminate when the switch is turned ON? - Go to Step 6  Go to Step 4 
4 Test the heated seat switch ignition voltage supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 5 
5 Test the heated seat switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect the heated seat cushion 4-way connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  3. Turn ON the ignition.
  4. Turn the heated seat switch ON.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
- Go to Step 7  Go to Step 10 
7 Test the heated seat battery positive voltage supply circuit for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 8 
8 Test the heated seat ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the heated seat back element connector.
  2. Measure the resistance of the heated seat back element. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
Is the resistance within the specified values?
0.5-2 Ω Go to Step 15  Go to Step 13 
10 Test the heated seat switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 11 
11 Inspect for poor connections at the heated seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 12 
12 Replace the heated seat switch.
Is the repair complete?
- Go to Step 17  -
13 Inspect for poor connections at the heated seat back element connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 14 
14 Replace the heated seat back element. Refer to Seat Back Heater Element Replacement - Front .
Is the repair complete?
- Go to Step 17  -
15 Inspect for poor connections at the heated seat cushion 4 way connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 17  Go to Step 16 
16 Replace the heated seat cushion element. Refer to Seat Cushion Heater Element Replacement - Front (Aztek) .
Is the repair complete?
- Go to Step 17  -
17 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
- System OK Go to Step 3
