Diagnostic Aids

NOTE:
Use Connector Test Adapter Kit (J-35616-A) for any test that requires probing the PCM harness connectors, electrical center fuse/relay cavities, component terminals and component harness connector. Using this kit will prevent damage caused by improper probing of connector terminals.
Check for a malfunctioning HO2S heater or heater circuit. With ignition on, HO2S voltage displayed on scan tool should gradually decrease to less than 250 millivolts or increase to more than 600 millivolts. If this does not occur, disconnect HO2S and connect a test light between HO2S ignition 1 voltage circuit and heater low control circuit. If test light does not illuminate, repair open ignition 1 voltage or sensor ground circuit as necessary. If test light illuminates and HO2S high signal circuit and HO2S low reference circuit are okay, replace HO2S. Review failure records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed to determine how often condition occurs that caused DTC to set. This may assist in diagnosing condition.
