WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Radio Audio Inoperative at Rear Seat Audio (RSA) Control

Step Action Values Yes No
Schematic Reference:  Radio/Audio System Schematics
DEFINITION: The rear seat audio (RSA) does not provide audio controls when using the headphones. The RSA power button indicator does not illuminate.
1 Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check? - Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Entertainment System
2
  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Install the headphones.
  4. Press the power button on the RSA control.
  5. Operate all of the RSA control buttons.
Do all the RSA controls operate properly?
- Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3
3
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the RSA control. Refer to Audio Control Replacement - Second Seat (Aztek)  or Audio Control Replacement - Second Seat (Rendezvous) .
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn ON the radio.
  5. Measure the voltage from the remote radio control supply voltage circuit of the RSA control to ground.
Does the voltage measure near the specified value?
9.5 V Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5
4 Test the ground circuit of the RSA control for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
