Valve Lifter Removal

Tools Required 

J 3049-A  Valve Lifter Remover

  1. Remove the valve lifter guide bolts (211).
  2. Remove the valve lifters and guide.

    IMPORTANT: Some valve lifters may be stuck in their bores because of gum or varnish deposits.
  4. Use the J 3049-A  or equivalent in order to remove the valve lifters, if required.

  6. Remove the valve lifters from the guide.

  8. Organize or mark the components so that they can be installed in the same location from which they were removed. Refer to Separating Parts .
