Removal & Installation

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses refer to numbers in illustration.
  1. Remove the fuel sender assembly. See FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY  . Note the position of the fuel strainer (2) on the fuel sender. See Figure . Support the fuel sender assembly with one hand and grasp the strainer (2) with the other hand. Pull the strainer off the fuel sender.
  2. Discard the strainer after inspection. Inspect the strainer. Replace a contaminated strainer and clean the fuel tank. See CLEANING  under FUEL TANK. To install reverse removal procedure using a new strainer. Ensure strainer is fully seated. Check for fuel leaks.
