Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in Engine Controls-4.3L
  3. Using the J 38185  , reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
  5. Using the J 38185  , reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the water pump.
  6. Remove the outlet hose.
